Michael was not too excited about having pictures taken of himself. His past experiences were ones of being uncomfortable and unrelaxed resulting in photos that didn’t get a true expression of himself. I decided to have Michael bring a friend along with him.
And to take Michael where he would most enjoy himself doing what he loves to do. Climb trees!
This was definitely a good way to get Michael to talk. His attention to God’s creation and ability to create so many different colors and shades of green is only one of the things that captivates Michael’s eyes and wonder when he sits among God’s world of beauty. He was such at home there.
Among the other things that are important to Michael is his father’s class ring that was passed down to him.
While having fun walking on the rail road tracks, I took this shot, as this Sr. told me “It is much easier to keep your balance when you look farther ahead at the rail.” I thought, “What a profound statement!” We are told in the New Testament to run to win the prize before us as we run the race. I bet it is much easier to keep going when and if we will keep our focus on that eternal prize ahead and not looking down at our feet too often! 1Cor. 9:24 – 27
Michael is a very gifted young man in the area of engineering. His ability to understand gears and explain them to me was mind-boggling. He is very passionate about it.
By the time we were wrapping things up, Michael was thinking of pictures he wanted and commented to me, “I didn’t know that getting pictures taken could be so much fun!”
Michael, you have a great future ahead of you! I know that as you seek the Lord for direction He will guide you to the place you should go and when you are there, because you followed His direction, you will never feel need to look back.
