Michael C.

Michael was not too excited about having pictures taken of himself. His past experiences were ones of being uncomfortable and unrelaxed resulting in photos that didn’t get a true expression of himself. I decided to have Michael bring a friend along with him.

And to take Michael where he would most enjoy himself doing what he loves to do. Climb trees!

This was definitely a good way to get Michael to talk. His attention to God’s creation and ability to create so many different colors and shades of green is only one of the things that captivates Michael’s eyes and wonder when he sits among God’s world of beauty. He was such at home there.

Among the other things that are important to Michael is his father’s class ring that was passed down to him.

While having fun walking on the rail road tracks, I took this shot, as this Sr. told me “It is much easier to keep your balance when you look farther ahead at the rail.” I thought, “What a profound statement!” We are told in the New Testament to run to win the prize before us as we run the race. I bet it is much easier to keep going when and if we will keep our focus on that eternal prize ahead and not looking down at our feet too often! 1Cor. 9:24 – 27

Michael is a very gifted young man in the area of engineering. His ability to understand gears and explain them to me was mind-boggling. He is very passionate about it.

By the time we were wrapping things up, Michael was thinking of pictures he wanted and commented to me, “I didn’t know that getting pictures taken could be so much fun!”

Michael, you have a great future ahead of you! I know that as you seek the Lord for direction He will guide you to the place you should go and when you are there, because you followed His direction, you will never feel need to look back.

Thank you, Michael, for a great day! It was such fun to play and hang out with you and your friend.

Gabriel Moving On

I have to admit, when I first met Gabriel he seemed, I don’t know…difficult to get to know. However, as the months have past I have found he is quite the lovable character.

He has become part of our family, like a nephew or little brother. He has a mischievous side as the picture above shows in his smile.

His love for the Lord is unabashed and it was fun to watch him play in God’s great creation at the beach.

He often took moments just to bask in God’s glory.

It was sweet and tender, and I felt privileged to be an observer.

Gabriel has another love….HATS! So we showed him a store that was nothing but hats. He was in heaven!

He even tried a few on.

Gabriel is often ready to play, dance, sing….Gabriel just loves to perform and is so joyful about it (and good at it too) you can’t help but be a captive audience.

Gabriel has a serious side too. He is a loyal friend and loves life as he now knows it.

Gabriel, thank you for the honor of spending the day with you and of your friendship.

I wish you the best as you finish this chapter and prepare for the next in your journey.
